Question: Why don't I care about eating anymore? I am an insulin dependant Type 2 diabetic so I know I have to but it makes me nauseous to even think about it. I have been diabetic for 38 years. I can't walk without dizziness and falling.

Brief Answer:
You may be having gastropareisis!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks so much for this query.

I have reviewed your information fully. I will like your doctors to evaluate your for gastropareisis. This essentially happens when diabetes affects the nerves of the stomach making it difficult for food to leave the stomach into the small intestines. This manifest with early satiety, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, etc. The best approach is to optimize management for diabetes (In this light, I will like to know what you HBA1C is) and metoclopramide. Evaluation often starts with an upper endoscopy followed by a stomach emptying study. Also, eating in frequently in small quantities could help alleviate the discomfort.

I hope this guides and helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.
