Question : For about a year, I have had balance problems. A year ago I fell out of a shower. Recently I have fallen 3 times while doing yard work, and 2 days ago I fell in my garage while looking at some thing/ Sometimes I feel dizzy when getting out of bed, which lasts for a while after I get up and walk round the house.

Brief Answer:
Need detailed multi system evalauation

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Recurrent falls, balance issues and dizziness in an elderly person is concerning for central nervous system (brain)/ peripheral nervous issues, orthostatic hypotension (especially if you are on antihypertensive meds) and cardiovascular issues.
Detailed neurological evaluation, CT brain, EKG, stress testing, blood pressure measurement (both sitting and standing BP), medication review, and complete metabolic profile are needed at this point.

So please be advised to follow up with your primary provider for detailed work up.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have further questions.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi
