Question : I had sudden and severe pain in my joints--it lasted about 5 minutes and I couldn't move. The only thing that is different is that I'm taking Mucinex for a cough.

Severe pain in joints is not possible with Mucinex, it may be just coincident . Do not worry if you have another episode of same pain than it need proper investigation.
