Question : I've had vertigo for 4 months now with no relief but now I get a pulsating / throbbing feeling which gets intense when I sleep and wakes me up

Hello,

You are having an inner ear problem and you should visit an ENT doctor about it soon. Meanwhile you can use antihistamines such benadryl to help your dizziness. Meclizine works great on vertigo but is taken with prescription.

If it is caused by an infection you can use antibiotics and corticosteroids with success.

There may be several reasons for pulsating ear sounds. You may be suffering from congestion of outer, middle or inner ear which causes throbbing pulsating ear sounds. Also, impaired circulation of ear can cause it. It is related to vertigo you are experiencing.
