Hello,
Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I understand from your query that you have started oral contraceptive pills for birth control and your periods are delayed by few days. Let me know if I am wrong in understanding your problem.
From your description, it seems that you are having anovulatory cycles that are causing irregular periods.
Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Brief Answer:
It is happening due to stress then
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for clarifying the scenario.
It is good that you are not taking any pills, and yet, the periods are delaying. Then it is hormonal imbalance due to stress of becoming pregnant. It does not mean that you will not get pregnant.
More than 90% couples get pregnant within a year of trying. Don't worry if pregnancy test comes negative. Keep yourself happy with whatever hobby you like. It could be music etc. Avoid doing heavy work or weight lifting.
Chances of becoming pregnant increases when sexual intercourse happens on or around 14th day of first day of menstrual period.
Since you are trying for pregnancy, please take tablet Fefol and Prenatal Capsule one per day. Also drink 1-2 glasses of milk daily. Take a nutritious and healthy diet including at least 5 fruits per day.
Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
