Question : I have been taking blood pressure meds for 3 months but I my bp pressure stayed low for a month so I went off of them.. my blood pressure has stayed down but my pulse rate has gone up..85-96 at rest it is fine .. when I first wake up it is 63..the problem is when I am up moving around or exercising I have been getting lots of skipped beats.. I had them before but not as what I am having now.. should I go back on the bp pill? My blood pressure today was 110/80.. pulse 95.. I don’t seem to get the skipped beats when sitting down..is this atrial fillibration? Should I go back on the bp meds to lower pulse rate? I do not like to take meds if I don’t have to..I exercise every day and stay active .. I was taking norvasc generic 2.5 thanks so much!

After going through the medical query raised by you I can understand your concern for your health and I would like to tell you that norvasc contains amlodipine which is a good antihypertensive agent with negligible effect on heart rate.
As your BP is going fine and within the recommended range for your age group, so I would suggest you to kindly get an ambulatory holter monitoring done to rule out any transient abnormal cardiac rhythm like atrial fibrillation or frequent ventricular ectopics.
Also mitral valve prolapse patients do experience frequent ectopics.

What symptoms do you have with atrial fillibration.. would taking that bp pill for 3 months and then stopping put me in atrial fillibration? Thanks sooo much!

Atrial fibrillation patients usually complains of fluttering sensation in the chest and if you feel your pulse then it will be irregularly irregular.
No that med has nothing to do with the development of AF.
