Question : I suffer from irritable bowel / diverticulitis. I am taking a psyllium capsule at night before I go to bed. I also take a tsp slippery elm in the morning. My stools in the morning have been greatly increased and also sometimes a couple of times in the daytime as well. In the morning sometimes have half a bowl full but still reasonably firm.
I am wondering if I am taking too much psyllium or shouldn't be taking it at night.
I have been doing this for some months but at moment feel tired and bit lacking in energy
Can you advise please.
I am allergic to sulphates with a very high sulphur allergy Also allergic to other drugs and have an intollerance to dairy

                                    Brief Answer:
You can take Psyllium in the morning.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Psyllium is a fiber supplement.
It is usually recommended three times a day.
So,if you take only in the evening, you are not taking to much psyllium.
I recommend to use it in the morning instead.
So, it will be more effective.
I also recommend to drink liquids and a fiber rich diet.
Daily exercise can also be helpful.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Kind regards!
