Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have seen the pics and it looks like folliculitis- inflammation of hair follicles, which appear as small, red & pus filled bumps, which may be itchy or painful. These can be caused by infections like bacterial, fungus, viral or may be non-infectious due to irritations like rubbing or shaving etc.
Hence, prevention in these cases may be having a good local hygiene, keeping skin dry particularly in area more prone to sweating. Using loose fitting clothes to avoid local irritation. Avoid shaving the hairs too closely or with dull razors.
Treatment mainly depend on the cause of folliculitis. For non infective folliculitis we may use warm compresses and/or local corticosteroid cream. However, if the etiology is infective, then local antibacterial, antifungal or antiviral creams may be used depending on the cause. In severe cases, you may have to use orally anti-bacterial medicines under guidance of a dermatologist for proper evaluation of the cause & proper dosage of medicine.
Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi,
Detailed Answer:
Definitely, first thing to try is warm compresses & local cortisone for giving you the symptomatic relief & also, as a large no. of folliculitis are non-infective in origin or go by themselves in short duration without using any anti- infective agent due to immunity of body. Therefore, anti-infective agents should be used, only if these options fail to give relief.
