Question: I am a nurse...I have been having issues for almost 2 years now, right upper quadrant intermittent pain after eating that caused a weight loss of 40 pounds. I had my gall bladder removed 20 years ago, i am 46.

6 months ago i started taking a bile salt supplement, and when i did my weight loss and right upper quadrant pain resolved overnight, when i do not take the bile salt the right upper quadrant pain comes right back.

However other issues have arisen. Right scrotal pain, right low back pain, hair loss bilateral lower legs and leg weakness after sitting for a long time, and a constant right upper quadrant bubbling.....spasm??

I have explored every issue, and i have had the following tests performed. All tests listed came back normal....

ct abd pelvis with oral contrast
renal ct
chest ct with contrast
liver ultrasound
ultrasound doppler lower extremities
ultrasound of my scrotum
mri lumbar pelvic
all lab work you can think of, cbc cmp liver panel, viral panel, thyroid turmor markers..everything!

I think i have one of 2 possible issues.....

1.....sphincter of oddi dysfunction that resolves when i lay down or isnt caught on any imaging

2.....and what i think is more likely....inferior vena cava stenosis, or portal/hepatic vein stenosis that causes blood to back up in my liver, bilateral lower legs, and scrotum.

My question is this...is it possible this is sphincter of oddi dysfunction, or IVC stenosis causing these issues that maybe are intermittent and not caught?
It has been almost 2 years of tests and labs
