Question : Sometimes When I stand kinda angled for a long period my legs get itchy and purpleish. I am getting liposuction with local anesthetic in 7/9 so I’m nervous
Brief Answer:
Varicose veins or circulation problems
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
This is unusual symptoms and may be related to varicose veins or disorder in lower extremity circulation.
This may happen due to thrombosis or spasm of blood vessels.
I don't think this is serious but you should do doppler ultrasound and ABI index to evaluate the legs' circulation.
Wish you good health.

Thank you for the response. You said you don’t think it is serious but isn’t thrombosis serious? Also, do you think it is safe to go ahead with the liposuction before being evaluated for this?
Brief Answer:
Hi
Detailed Answer:
There are many degrees of thrombosis, and most common this is just superficial thrombophlenitis or vein varicosity. These are not serious and may be just cosmetic concern. Deep vein thrombosis is something else and this is serious issue but it would have other symptoms in that case. There are some blood clotting disorders which may predispose vein thrombosis so I think that coagulation and previously mentioned tests should be done.
