Brief Answer:
Stabbing feeling is normal during injection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello ,

The stabbing feeling during iv injection is created by the needle touching the nerve endings of the skin and of the vein during insertion. The ankle of insertion is not important.
This stabbing feeling may commonly happen during every injection and is normal.
If you have to do several injections you better use a vein catheter .

Hope I have answered the question.

Thanks.
