Why When I Get An IV Done, When The Needle Is Only In Just Past The Tip?

Question: Hi i was wondering why when i get an iv done, when the needle is only in just past the tip it feel like a stab inside the vein. Doesnt matter the angle its put in or where it goes in
Brief Answer:
Stabbing feeling is normal during injection.
Detailed Answer:
Hello ,
The stabbing feeling during iv injection is created by the needle touching the nerve endings of the skin and of the vein during insertion. The ankle of insertion is not important.
This stabbing feeling may commonly happen during every injection and is normal.
If you have to do several injections you better use a vein catheter .
