Question : Hi my name is XXXXXXX I am experiencing vertigo at the moment and I have prescribed pills for it that are not working. I usually get motion sickness and was outside on a boat fishing most of the day I took bonine before we left and had Wrist acupuncture bracelets on I felt fine the whole day until we were done and a couple hours later i started getting dizzy and everything spinning. I remember water splashing in one ear and the wind hitting me on one side of my face the entire way out and in. Now which is 6 hours after I first noticed it I'm still dizzy cant barely lay or sit down and have a lot of pressure on my right ear. Is there anything I can do for this at home and anyway i can get a doctors note for work tomorrow at 8 if this doesnt go away. Usually when i get vertigo it lasts for anywhere from a day up to a week. Please help and let me know.
Brief Answer:
Have rest and use another meclizine pill.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
You are having dizziness and vertigo possibly caused by the boat trip you had and water going to your ear.
You can use another meclizine pill now because it is wearing off and you are experiencing dizziness again.
Also you can use warm compresses on ear and the side of face the wind was hitting.
You can use boric acid solution on the ear because water going in it can cause infection.
It is recommended that you have rest and don't go to work tomorrow.
If you don't get any better visit and ENT doctor.
Hope I have answered the question.
