Question : my son is ten years old. He got hurt in school few years back and had a small swelling in his right thigh. it normally does not pain, however after he does physical exertion like playing in the field , if I press the swelled area of his thigh it hurts him. We had shown to a doctor once and on his recommendation took an X Ray. everything was found normal.
Brief Answer:
Ultrasound scan
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Since its a soft tissue swelling the Xray would not show anything.
I would recommend a Ultrasound scan of the swelling which can identify to some extent what kind of material is filling that swelling. Based on its composition and extension plan on its management can be made.
Hope, I answered your query.
Wish you good health.
Regards,
Ultrasound scan
