Will Diazepam Show In Urine Test After 8 Days?

default
Posted on Sat, 8 Nov 2014
Question: Hi. I was taking about 50mgs of diazepam at night(for insomnia) for approximately 4 days. The last day was 8 days ago. I have a urine drug test on the 27th(15 days from now) if my math is correct, I will be 24 days "clean" when I take my drug test. What are the chances that it will show up on the test? I have a script but it's 7 months old. Is there anything I can do to help flush it out?

Brief Answer:
There are very little chances of detection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Diazepam is a long-acting benzodiazepine.
Diazepam is metabolized to nordiazepam which is an active metabolite with a half-life of 40-99 hours.
Diazepam is excreted in urine mainly as oxazepam conjugate and temazepam conjugate with only traces of diazepam and nordiazepam.

Urine concentrations of metabolites are detectable for several days to weeks after last use.As your test test is scheduled after 3.5 weeks,so there are little chances of detection.

Hope I have answered your question.
Further queries are most welcome.
