Dear
Thanks for contacting with your health concern and following are the explanations [although not exhaustive] but still be useful
• Coq10: any form of trauma causes increase in free radicals thus disrupting/damaging cellular function, so taking 50 mg of Coq 10 before surgery is ideal [but if taking blood thinners one should avoid it as it increases risk of bleeding, and others supplements to avoid are: ginger, garlic ginseng, ginkgo, vitamin E,fish oil]
• Hawthorn: is considered as a cardio tonic and if not suffering from any heart ailment can be taken [since it interacts with digoxin thus can be fatal]
• Potassium chloride: since you are taking spironolcatone[ potassium sparing diuretic] thus I don’t think there is need of taking it as it may cause dangerous hyperkalemia
• L-Carnitine: is a good antioxidant and side effects are usually mild
• Lutein is considered LIKELY SAFE
• Astaxanthin: take this supplement after surgery
• Milk thistle: can be taken as it protects, and repair the liver
• Alpha lipoic acid: reports of heart rhythm problems, low blood sugar ,insomnia are reported by patients
• Saw palmetto: Medicinal use of this is not approved by FDA and stomach bleeding with liver/pancreas problems are noted
• Epicor; is probably a probiotic which can prevent fungal disorders, digestive disturbances [known to occur in patients receiving oral/intravenous antibiotics during stay in hospital] so can be taken
• Pyrroloquinoline quinone: [PPQ]: cannot comment since not have much knowledge about it.

Dear
Thanks for reverting back
1. Since beet root is a major source of inorganic nitrates [which changes to biologically active nitric oxide in body] when consumed thus can lower blood pressure, increase oxygen delivery to heart and relax & dilate the blood vessels
PS. some other vegetables which are rich source of inorganic nitrate is/are spinach, cabbage, lettuce, celery, turnips
2. Only if one has heart problem or high blood pressure one can consider opting for it, since it lowers blood pressure which may be unsafe in people having low blood pressure naturally.
3. Some Doctor/Physician also advise not to boil the vegetables since nitrate dissolves in water instead taking them after steaming-roasting-drinking will have positive results
