Question : Hi my friend is going away on the 26th of Nov til the 3rd of Dec and has a minor surgical procedure (labiaplasty) on the 14th of Dec. She was wondering if taking MDMA would affect the surgery at all?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

Any drug like MDMA should be stopped at least 1 week before a surgical procedure including labioplasty. This is to prevent any complications with anesthesia. Since anesthesia takes a week to wean off in most patients, it is suggested that she also avoids taking MDMA for 1 week after the procedure.

She should not take any drug from 1 week before and till 1 week after the procedure.
