Question : my husband was supposed to have a ct scan today Because of lung nodules found on his lungs but it had to get Reschedule due to an insurance problem for another 2 weeks. one nodule 11mm and one 7mm. if this was cancer how long do we have to.get the ct scan? will this delay change prognosis
Brief Answer:
No need to worry for 2 weeks delay.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I can understand your concern.
In majority of cases, these nodules are benign (non malignant).
So no need to worry for 2 weeks delay in CT scan.
Even if it is cancer, you can get it done within 1 month. No need for hurry. It won't affect prognosis.
If he is an active smoker then tell him to quit smoking as soon as possible.
Do let me know if he is having any chest symptoms.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your husband. Thanks.
