Question : I originally had a clear IOL implanted in my right eye about 3+ years ago. I immediately (and still do) noticed an almost LED blue light effect that made trees/leaves look a bit cold. My other eye has a very bad cataract (relatively no sight in that eye now) and am wondering if getting an "Alcon Blue Light filter IOL lens would alleviate the "Blue" tint look in both eyes? Also, I am concerned about too much yellow then. Please advise. Thank You!

                                    Brief Answer:
UV absorbing lens is ideal.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Usually almost all my patience have this slight color issue even with top end lenses. Ordinarily this lasts for a couple of weeks and brain gradually adopts to this new setup in due course of time. Senitivity and alertness of the individual also plays a role.
As a rule we recommend UV absorbing aspheric lens to our patients, there is a group of yellow lenses available at a higher cost which probably doesn't make a lot of difference.
Since your cataract is advanced, do not delay and go ahead with surgery urgently.
Regards

My real question is will getting one blue light filter iol make my color vision off balance. I already have one clear iol from 3 years ago. I do not want too much blue or too much yellow. Please advise.

                                    Brief Answer:
We do not prefer a change.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
As a rule we do not go for a drastic change in the lens of other eye. This makes two images of two eyes transmitted to brain, fused as one. This rule is followed if there is some gross difficulty from the lens of other eye.
Follow the basic quality of other eye to maintain congruity.
