Question : I have been taking ONE 50 mg tramadol a day for over a year, my question is: will it be okay to take half a pill per day for awhile in order to taper off? I don't want side effects if possible. Thanks so much!

Hello dear,

You have been using it for a long while so you better cut it off gradually.
Use 37.5 mg for first week
25 mg for next week and 12.5mg for the last week
Use a pill cuter to cut them and have the right dosage.
