Question : Hi, will it help to increase methadone dosage if introducing tegrtol to meds?
Brief Answer:
Tagretol might reduce the Methadone levels.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Tagretol is Carbamazepine. Carbamazepine is an hepatic enzyme inducer. The drug if used with Methadone results in increased metabolism of Methadone and is known to lower the Methadone levels.
So introducing Tagretol to medicines should reduce the Methadone levels and thus Methadone dose should be increased to get desired effects.
Please don't hesitate to ask again for more clarifications.
Thanks.
