Will Slight Burning Sensation In The Pubic Bone Go Away Once My Lower Abdomen Heals?

default
Posted on Mon, 18 Jul 2022
Question: According to my doctor, I have a lower abdominal strain. He did many tests (like resisted sit-up) and said it wasn't a sports hernia. He also said it wasn't a regular hernia. The strain is gradually feeling better but I've developed at times a slight burning sensation in the pubic bone (the bone above my penis). And for the past few days, at times the tip of my penis has a burning feeling. Can you tell what this is? Is a nerve irritated? Will this go away once my lower abdomen heals?

Are there any exercises I should do for this? Also, at times, my right hip adductor feels a bit tight and sore. The adductor and the burning issue both feel better with rest and worse with activity. They feel almost normal in the morning when I wake up but worse if I do a lot of walking or using steps. It's mild or maybe medium in intensity. It's tolerable but I'm hoping it's not a long-term problem. The pubic bone discomfort started about 1 1/2 weeks ago but it's been intermittent. The penis burning feeling started a few days ago.

Brief Answer:
Can be nerve irritation or low levels of vitamin B12.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

A slight burning sensation above the pubic bone can be due to a mild nerve irritation related to the sprain or low levels of vitamin B12.
The burning at the tip of penis can be related to a urine infection. You need to get your urine and serum vitamin B 12 levels evaluated. In case of a deficiency or infection, proper medicines and supplements will help.

The soreness in hip adductor can be related to muscle stiffness due to overuse or lack of regular stretching. Oral muscle relaxants can help.
This is not likely to be a long term problem. Increasing the fluid intake and electrolyte rich fluids can also help.

I hope this answers your query. In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out. Wishing you good health.
