Brief Answer:
The purpose of treatment is to minimize the viral load and activity

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. Viekira (a combination of antivirals ombitasvir/paritaprevir/ritonavir and dasabuvir) and Ribashere (Ribavirin) are antivirals. Harvoni (a combination of ledipasvir and sofosbuvir) is another set of combination antivirals. I do not suppose that you need to shift from one to another. The purpose of this treatment is to keep the viral load in control. This is not something that you yourself can 'feel'. If felt required, your treating physician can test the viral load and in case he feels required, he can modify the regimen. Under no circumstance should you try to self-medicate in this regard.

Let me know if I could help further.

Correct I am going for a blood test this week end to see if the medication is working or not, however, I have been told that some of these medications only work if you have not taken any other treatment for the Hep C yet.

My concern is that if the Viekira does not work that my options are not very good.

There is no reason to assume that it would not work

I understand. You need not assume or grow apprehensive that the medicines are not working. Let us hope for the best.
