Question : Would a polyp show up on vaginal ultasound if the time of cycle when the lining is 11 mm? I had an ultrasound (see attached) that dorsnt indicate polyp. does this mean all clear? or do i need another one? thanks
Brief Answer:
Hysteroscopy can detect a polyp.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
A vaginal ultrasound scan cannot always detect a polyp. It can detect only a large polyp. But an endometrial lining of 11mm almost rules out a polyp. The polyp is best diagnosed by a hysteroscopy and it is recommended if there is a heavy and prolonged bleeding.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.

So it most likely rules it out? If continuous, heavy bleeding is an issue, then a saline ultrasound is recommended to be sure? Thanks
Brief Answer:
Yes.

Hello.
Thanks for writing in again.
The polyp is not likely. Saline ultrasound will help in case the bleeding continues.
