Question: I have recently started Eliquis. I know to avoid aspirin, advil, etc... Been having trouble sleeping lately. Would it be safe to take a Tylenol PM? Thanks

Brief Answer:
No problem with that.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

There is no interaction between the Eliquis and Tylenol. Any drug formulation that contains either paracetamol (acetaminophen) or diphenhydramine like Tylenol PM is safe to use with Eliquis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Sorry...I neglected to name the other meds I'm on: Diltiazem (120 mg), Zoloft (50 mg), atorvastatin (20 mg) and various vitamins (C, B1, Folic Acid). Still okay?
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Probably yes but there are some interactions.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Zoloft and diltiazem may interact with diphenhydramine and produce more side effects from the central nervous system (with Zoloft) or lower the blood pressure (with Diltiazem). The risk for such interactions is not very high though, so you can only find out by trying. Since you're trying to sleep the first interaction (with Zoloft) may actually be positive for you.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

I just received some samples (3 month supply) of Eliquis (sealed) but they have an expiration date of March 2018. Are they still good beyond the expiration date and if so, for how long?
Thanks

Brief Answer:
They're not supposed to be used beyond the expiration date.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I don't know what happens to Eliquis after the expiration date but it's not safe to use it. Some drugs may just become inactive after their expiration date, others may become toxic. In any case, you can't take that risk. If it's not as effective as it should then you may get into trouble with thrombotic complications. If it's toxic then things may be even worse.

Hope I have answered your query.
