Question : Hi I've had had a feeling of heartburn and pains in my chest more so on my left side but only at certain times. I visited a doctor a few weeks ago and he said more than likey I strained something in my chest. Now a few weeks later I feel this could be something else as I feel very anxious in my chest and pain just randomly occurs. Could this be digestive problems as I feel the need to belch often and the pain on my left chest is there randomly. Would you recommend I get an xray or what would be best to check what the problem actually is?
Brief Answer:
Probably gastroesophageal reflux disease, follow the advice below.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Your symptoms seem to be related to a gastrointestinal reflux disease.
The pain in the chest is probably due to the presence of the acidity in the stomach.
To confirm the diagnosis, I suggest to do an upper endoscopy.
This is a procedure done by a gastroenterologist. Meanwhile, I suggest to use antacids such as Maloox three times a day.
I also suggest to use a gastroenterologist protector such as Prilosec in the morning before breakfast.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Kind regards!
