Question : Yes. I’m asking your specialized opinion. As I have very bad sinus allergies. And have been getting infections. Two times a year where I need steroids and antibiotics. And now January i started to work on my implants. Unfortunately I have put it off and then I got another failed bridge. So I need 6 implants now 3 on each side. Upper mouth. Unfortunately I started in January and one under sinus where they did bone graft got infected. My whole sinus cavity infected. He had to remove what he did. But one implant in front top of my mouth took I needed a balloon sinuplasty. I’m healed. So I went back to dentist. In XXXXXXX He started to finish the one that still was there. In front. Three teeth aeway from sinus one (which had to be undone as infection could be in bone). So all I did was have him prep that front one that is ready and take impressions so I could complete it. And two days after I now have a new sinus infection and I am back on steroids and abx. I still have it ; and I will go to ENT. however most of it seems gone. But I really want to know what do i do? Can I finally get at least that one tooth completed and have a completed implant so he can give me a nicer looking partial until I’m ready to do rest? The xrays show no infection anywhere. The dentist says it’s a coincidence that I got a new sinus infection. He’s a very good surgeon. He teaches students how to do. And he has a good practice. I’ve gone for second and third opinions they all say it’s healed and I can start work there. But still I hold off. My doctor says well I have to go with what the dentist says. But I wonder about this infection. Again. What do you think. Logically I would think I could finish a front one three teeth away from sinus. And then at least I look a little better and a partial will fit better.

Brief Answer:
Yes, go ahead with three teeth away from sinus.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Ask a doctor forum.
I can understand your concern.i have gone through the detailed history you have given.
Yes, your thinking is logical and practical.
First complete three teeth away from sinus.
No harm in doing those.
Better to focus on preventing recurrent sinusitis.
Most common cause is allergy and infection.
So get done detailed allergy testing so that we can identify allergens causing allergy in you. Better to avoid those allergens.
Also do regular steam inhalation and warm water gargles 5-6 times a day to prevent recurrent infection.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks

Ty. So fast. I appreciate. Yes. I will also try gargles. I do steam. I’m doing nose rinses too. But I get afraid due to Covid. I sanitize it a lot. I also found one Called ocean that has benzalkoniom(sp)chloride in it besides saline. Smell is worse. But I think that’s the plastic they use. However I think it has some antiseptic in it for viral slightly besides just saline. Whatever I can do. I did get allergy shots for a year. Didn’t do much for me. I have had air/plant allergies since youth I’m just grateful it’s not asthma too like childhood. But I do get bronchitis. So I was improving ever so slightly allergist said. I’m asking ent this week if he thinks it’s ok to finish up area 3 teeth away As then my smile will look better and I’ll finally have a few more teeth. I’m risking during Covid as I fear my teeth will get worse w no others to support. Anyway. I guess my only question is the nose spray w Benz chloride. Also it tur4s me more. But I’m doing Zumba at home 2 times a day. I figure it’s better than nothing at all and in used to sports. And dance. Ty ever so much for this help.
