Question : You previously answered my query as to my wife's stomach distress. Thanks for inquiring further. She still has the problem, and there seems to be no pattern, i.e., coffee sometimes bothers her and sometimes doesn't. Sometimes after a meal she feels ok and sometimes doesn't. You mentioned saliva stones. How would we check that out? She doesn't have the usual GERD feelings. How about TUMs? Would they help and would they damage her kidneys, already low GFR?

An ENT doctor can check for salivary stones by a physical examination where he palpates the parotid and sublingual glands and/or by a radiological examination with contrast.

TUMs should be OK!
