Question : after taking multiple eye drops and also ciprofloxacin ophthalmic solution i keep getting a sweet unpleasant smell in my nears that make me nauseated and unable to sleep

There is a connection between the nasal passages and the eyes. There is a very small area at the corners of the eye that eventually lead into a duct or passage way that connects with the nose. The nasolacrimal duct forms part of this passage way. It connects the lacrimal sac in the eye to the nose.
It is reason that sometimes when persons cry profusely, some of the tears may enter the nose.
Some persons press lightly at the corner of the eye to the side of the nose to reduce or slow down drainage.
The smell that is affecting you is due to the eye drops draining into the nasal passage/nostrils.
Most eye drops or treatments do not take smell or taste in mind though they are aware of the fact that this drainage occurs.
Some persons may also taste the drops as well.
