Brief Answer:
Possible causes discussed- some more information is needed

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor" service,

There are many causes of changes in the color of urine. These changes may be related to pigments in the urine due to food colorants and certain foods (beetroots), or to the presence of blood because of infection, urinary stones, problems with the prostate and tumors.

To better assist you some more information is needed such as:
- do you have any urinary frequency or burning, any abdominal pain, back pain or fever, and for how long have you had these?
- have you had a urine analysis to confirm the presence of blood in the urine or it is just that the urine looks red?
- have you had any other tests (blood tests, ultrasound, prostate exam, ect)?

I kindly ask you to let me know of the above information and if possible to upload any test report that you may have done recently to evaluate this problem.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
