Question : can a CT scan of abdomen and pelvis with contrast find a uterine or ovarian tumor? or is a pelvic ultrasound better?

Hello,

I understand your concern. Uterine cancer is usually diagnose with a Pap test, a transvaginal ultrasound and biopsy. Biopsy is the only certain way to tell if cancer is present. Ovarian cancer is usually diagnosed with a transvaginal ultrasound and CA-125 blood test. In both cases, the ultrasound is the diagnostic test of choice.

A CT scan may be used to check if the cancer has spread.
