Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
1. Yes, XXXXXXX ink is black.
2. Figure 3 shows cecum before injecting XXXXXXX ink. Figure 6 is showing the same part after injecting XXXXXXX ink. You can see the black part.
3. Figure 6 is showing cecum and proximal ascending colon. Yes that is XXXXXXX ink
4. The image is not clear to comment on the polyp. What I can see there is ileo cecal valve. A video would be better to give opinion.
If the polyp is showing features of malignancy or precursor of malignancy, then the right half of the colon may be removed and the remaining joined.
Alternatively the whole polyp can be removed by colonoscopy by special procedures like submucosal dissection.
Regards,
Dr.R.K

Sorry to bother you. My Gi dr says see a surgeon.. No discussion about submucosal dissection. Any idea how to. Determine if this procedure is possible.. can the about 2 inches long section of colon (where the sessile polyp is situated ), be cut out with removing the ascending colon!
Brief Answer:
Answer given below
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
First we have to confirm whether the polyp is premalignant, malignant or benign.
It takes at least 5 years for a polyp to turn malignant.
You can discuss with your doctor/surgeon about the options like piecemeal polypectomy and submucosal dissection. Surgeon will determine the type of procedure needed and what all needs to be removed. It mostly depends on diagnosis, whether its benign, premalignant or malignant.
