Question : hello, I met my heart doctor today post my echocardiogram. He told me my aortic valve had a defect since birth. what shocked me today was when he said in his opinion I am ready for a heart valve replacement. In 1975 I was first diagnosed with a hole in my aortic valve. Today I feel totally healthy, go the gym three times a week and I feel fine. He said today I have a value of 73 inside my aortic valve. I do not know why I have not feeling run down at all. My name is XXXXXXX

After going through the medical details provided by you I can understand your concern for your help and valving and I would like to tell you that before giving any suitable medical opinion I would like to review your eco-cardiogram report personally.

As per your information that the problem is since childhood there is possibility of having a bicuspid aortic valve which create a sort of narrowing of the aortic valve and it progress with age. Then you are telling there is some hole in the valve which is totally different scenario.

Kindly upload your echocardiogram report so that I can review and then guide go you accordingly.
