Question : hello, I recently had a light colored stool last night. This morning I had two stools and they were both brown but had some lighter parts in them. I am worried about a bile duct obstruction. Today I have been having back and abdominal pain. I was diagnosed with gastritis yesterday from an endoscopy

Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
It is unlikely to be bile duct obstruction.
In bile duct obstruction it will be totally pale stool and not patches of pallor.
Also, the urine and eyes would be yellow and there would be itching.
What you had is insignificant.
To confirm, liver panel may be done.
In bile duct obstruction, the bilirubin and alkaline phosphatase of liver panel would be elevated.
