Question: Hello doctor, I want to know in your clinical practice if someone having idiopathic RLS comes to you and he/she also suffer from anxiety disorder so what anxiety meds. do you generally prescribe? because as far in my case i have tried taking different SSRI/SNRI meds. in past and all of them aggravates my RLS symptoms, technically all serotonin acting drugs makes it worse due to which i am not able to take anxiety treatment. The leftover options doctor suggest to me are all benzo drugs which is not an daily or long term option. so i don't wanna rely on those. I am only taking gabapentin to control RLS.

Brief Answer:
You could try pregabalin.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for posting your query. Sorry for the late reply.

I have seen patients get better with pregabalin- it has beneficial effects on RLS as well as anxiety. This can be added to ropinirole or pramipexole.

Thanks doctor, which variant should be more effective in this case , immediate release or extended/prolonged release one ? as i have seen pregabalin is available in both types & i understand that extended release is once daily. I don't wanna feel sleepy due to that and as for my anxiety symptom is more concerned with increased heartbeats upon specific thoughts or situations not panic per se.
