Brief Answer:
Should be found the cause of cardiomegaly and that needs to be managed.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Thank you for using "Ask a doctor" service.

I read your query and reviewed your xray report.

Cardiomegaly may come from different reasons. It means that your mother's heart is enlarged. This may come from a problem that she has for years like high blood pressure mostly but also inherited problems that she has from birth, coronary artery disease (a blocked vessel in her heart that gives her chest pain when she does physical activity), specific infections, ect. Since I do not have the complete health data of your mother I cannot tell which is the cause. So I would recommend consulting a local cardiologist who can examine her thoroughly and find the cause. Cardiomegaly in itself it is not something that you treat, but the cause should be treated.

I hope this is helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Brief Answer:
Tachycardia

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for the follow up question.

The other two reports you uploaded are within normal limits.
Her enlarged heart doesn't come from high blood pressure and most probably not from coronary artery disease. But she has a quite fast heart rate in rest. This again needs to be investigated as to why is there. And after a full history and physical exam with a cardiologist, if still no evident reasons of both cardiomegaly and tachycardia, they can maybe suggest a treatment for tachycardia.

Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Kind regards,
Dr.Papaqako
