Hello! For The Past Four Months I Have Been Having

Question: Hello! For the past four months I have been having off and on SCM pain. I went to the doctor who checked my lymph nodes and she said I have a very tight SCM and to get massages and physical therapy.

It was still hurting and I noticed sometimes my gland hurts next to it (I think its my submandibular gland). It is a bit more enlarged than my other one. Should I get a second opinion or is it normal to have a gland bigger than the other one sometimes? Could my SCM pain cause my gland to swell?

Just wondering what your thoughts are. Thank you so much!

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Asc a doctors service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
A streched scm muscle cant cause your gland to swell.
Sometimes it happens to have a bigger gland then the other side.
I belive that you need to do an ultrasound of the neck to check what is causing the swelling.
Hope I have answered the question .

So it is possible to have SCM pain that is unrelated to the gland swelling?

The swelling is barely noticable, but it is a bit enlarged. I went to the doctor about a month ago and they said my lymph node wasn't swollen.

The gland moves and is squishy, it just feels a bit bigger than the other side. Thank you!

Hello dear, thank you for asking again.
It is possible to have scm pain unrelated to gland swelling.
If you can find a gland swollen, bigger and squishy you may need an ultrasound of the neck to check it.
