Brief Answer:
Probably petechiae due to an allergic reaction, more details needed.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I've reviewed the attached photo.

Two common causes of petechiae in children are allergic reactions and viral infection.

It is very important to determine the cause of petechiae for proper treatment.

Some further information that I may need to help me through the diagnosis are:

Does your child have any symptoms of a viral infection such as fever, body aches etc?

Did you use any medication previously to treat the petechiae?

Is your child allergic to anything?

Awaiting your response to be able to help you better.

Let me know if I can assist you further

Regards

Brief Answer:
A visit at a dermatologist is recommended.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again dear,

I understand your concern.

Due to the multiple factors which cause petechiae I recommend the following examinations to confirm the diagnosis are:

-a complete blood count
-Bleeding time and clotting time
-INR, aPTT

I also recommend visiting a dermatologist for a physical examination.

Best wishes for you and your son.

Take care,

dr.Dorina Gurabardhi
