Question : help. my mother metally declined over the past month and no longer can take care or herself what actions of immediate care should I take.

I have read your query and here is my advice.

In such cases, evaluation by the Neurologist is necessary.

This in order to evaluate correctly any organic brain pathology such as stroke, tumors, etc. and psychological diseases such as dementia.

The Neurologist may apply psychological tests and may ask for brain imaging such as MRI in order to achieve a correct diagnosis.

After this evaluation treatment possibilities should be clear.
