Question : hi I am taking doxycycline and have terrible right shoulder pain, swelling of face and hands. I'm assuming it's the doxycycline. I'm halfway through the script. do u think it's ok to finish it

Hello,

I have gone through your query and here is my advice.

As per many studies, doxycycline may cause swelling face and hands but not the right shoulder pain.

For that I would suggest you to take tab. claritin(loratidine) 10 mg once a day, tab. acetaminophen 500 mg three times a day with hydrocortisone ointment locally. These medications should be available over the counter.

Please let me know do you have breathing difficulty, rash, itching?
Do you have allergy to any food or medications?

So, I would suggest you to stop tab. doxycycline and follow up here with detailed medical history.
