Question : Hi Doctor, My son aged 8 years weighing 25 Kg has started vomiting since last 5 hours. He had non home food 1 day back. Few months back when he had similar problem, we had given him Ondem syrup who got relieved quickly. Kindly advise what medicine can be given to him & it's dosage. Thank you.

Give Ondem 4mg tablet

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

This can suggest an acute gastritis or gastro enteritis. You can give him Ondem 4mg tablet(ondansetron). Wait for 1 hour after tablet before trying anything orally. Can continue the same every 8 hours for next 48 hours . If you have Ondem syrup with you, give 10 ml of syrup instead of tablet.

If he develops fever, abdominal pain or loose stools, let me know. Otherwise, no worries.
