Question : hi i have gotton nauseas all of a sudden . and extremely tired. this has lasted for 36 hours. i have a mirena iud - and take 20 mg of provera daily ( taken for 3-4 weeks ) plus 2,5 mg of bisoprolol . could this be side effects from my medication?

Your symptoms are more likely to be caused by the medication you are using. High doses of progesterone or estrogen can cause gastric irritation.

I would like to know why you have been prescribed Provera when you are using the Mirena.

In the current scenario, I have a few suggestions for you.

1. See if you can manage with lesser doses of Provera to manage the symptoms and avoid long term side effects.

2. Ask your doctor if conservative surgery can be planned which decreases the need for hormones. Hormones, anyway, are not a permanent solution for the disease.

3. Switching medication is to be planned accordingly.

Hi have endometriosis. And i bled on mine pills for 5 month and i had an iud plus XXXXXXX pills but still bled . Then they switched to provera and first now on 4 pills and mirena i dont bleed. I have had a hysterocskpy and everything was normal . And in january they Want me to switch to depo provera and iud - but is this a good idea

Depo-Provera can be used but again, as I mentioned earlier, hormones are not a permanent solution to the problem.

If you have completed child-bearing, you can try conservative surgery or go for induction of medical menopause using gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogs. Symptoms always improve after menopause.
