If brain damage happened it would be slight concussion in your case and will heal by itself.

If there is bleeding inside, then it will need to be relieved surgically. This is usual scenario in road accidents.
If pressure inside head increases slowly, then headache also increases, this also requires management with medicines like mannitol. So this also requires emergency visit.
