Question : hi im 15 yrs old and my hip is very sore and if I sit down for long amounts of time and stand up, pain increases. I often play touch rugby and kicking is almost impossible as the movement is limited and pain is immense. right now my left hip is worse than the right hip but the pain can vary. waking up in the morning I don't have much pain at all, sometimes none but throughout the day it increases. Could you help diagnose what I may have and treatment for it?

There are many medical conditions that can cause hip pain.

The symptoms can be related to juvenile arthritis.

I suggest to do some examinations to help through the diagnosis.

An x-ray of the hip

A rheumatoid factor blood levels

A complete blood count and PCR level

Meanwhile, I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day.

I suggest using an anti-inflammatory cream such as Voltaren cream.

I also recommend using ice compresses for local application.
