What’s Going On With My Period?

Brown discharge a few days before the period is not typically a cause for concern
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Hope I can be of help to you today. Brown discharge a few days before the period is not typically a cause for concern. If the discharge is brown it likely contains small amounts of old blood.
There are many reasons that cause vaginal brown discharge before period: a period just beginning to start, during which you have a flow that is very light. You can have pinkish-brown discharge when ovulation spotting. If you are on placebo week of birth control and not have bled this may be due to the pill work by stopping the ovulation, thickening cervical mucus to block sperm, and keeping the lining of the uterus thin to prevent pregnancy. So it is common and can be completely normal while you miss a period during a birth control pill.
Hope that I can help you, please let me know if you have any clarification or questions, I would be glad to discuss it with you further.
Wish your mother has good health.
Best regards,
