Brief Answer:
Could be Frozen shoulder with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Detailed Answer:
Hi , I am Dr Gopal Goel , Orthopedic Surgeon.
I have read your complaints and to me there are two parts involved- Shoulder and hands.
Repeated injuries in the shoulder are probably not the contributing factors.
Shoulder condition like Frozen shoulder is very common at this age and it explains shoulder , underarm and upper arm pain. Also the pain is more in night. Although to be sure about this condition I need to physically examine your range of motion in shoulder. If movement is less than normal, then it is probably early Stage .
Thumb pain and numbness in fingers could be due to Carpal tunnel syndrome ( Pressure on median nerve in wrist) .
Also thumb pain could be due to Carpo -metacarpal arthritis of the thumb.
To confirm the diagnosis we need 1. Clinical Examination 2. MRI of shoulder 3. NCV (Nerve conduction velocity) Both upper limbs. 4. S Vit D3 levels 5. X Rays Both wrists AP/Lat view.
Treatment at present would be pain killers , Active exercises for shoulder , night splint for hands to avoid flexion at the wrist,
Thanks for the question. I hope to have answered your query. Please feel free to ask any other question.
