Brief Answer:
It is unlikely to be a clostridium. diff infection.

Hi...
Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.

I have gone through your query and here is my opinion.

You are on antibiotics and probiotics, both of which are notorious for causing unpleasant digestive side effects.

The probiotics are live microorganisms which cause fermentation and may cause bloating and gas in some (especially if taken in excess).
Yeast-based probiotics may cause constipation and increased thirst.

I would suggest you continue the antibiotics but give a break to probiotics.

Have multiple small meals instead of three major meals.
Be physically active.
Avoid heavy and gassy meals.
Avoid alcohol and limit caffeine.
Avoid carbonated drinks.
Quit smoking (if at all do)
Don't be sleep deprived.
Continue to take yogurt, which is a good source of lactobacillus.
Take Over the counter proton pump inhibitors (PPI) like Pantoprazole 40mg, once daily, empty stomach.

It is unlikely to be a clostridium.dif.gut infection as the usual symptoms encountered there is nausea, diarrhea, blood in stools, abdominal cramps, fever, and dehydration in addition to bloating.

Take the antibiotic course only under medical supervision and as prescribed.
Indiscriminate use should be avoided.
Visit your clinician as soon as the antibiotic course is over, for further evaluation.

Hope that I have answered your query.

Stay healthy and stay blessed.
Regards

Can I safely take these 10 days even if I took antibiotics for days earlier in the month?

Brief Answer:
It is unlikely to be a clostridium. diff infection.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.

I think that a week of antibiotic regimen should be enough for an ear infection.

Your clinician would be the best guide and would advise you according to the severity of infection and physical clinical findings.

Happy living.
Regards.
