I Don%E2%80%99t Believe This Is Strep But It May Be

Question: i don%E2%80%99t believe this is strep but it may be related to my sinuses. i usually have cobblestone in the back of my throat and redness due to GERD but now i have a few red patches. one on the right and one on the left. it hurts when i swallow saliva but not when I eat. Ive been sneezing here and there and am tired but no fever. im trying to avoid the walk in as i have a ten week old and i really dont want to subject him to all those germs. i usally wake up with a white drainage streak down my throat in the morning and i was able to cough up a little mucous. ive had an irritated tongue the past few weeks but thats mostly resolved... though the first doctor said my tongue issues were related to a viral infection as i had fluid in my ears as well as the cobblestone and drainage. the dr. I spoke to on here also said it was related to something similiar as well as acid reflux. i attached photos of my tongue just for past reference and the back of my throat with the areas im talking about circled. also, ive always had a scalped tongue for years (its my norm)
Brief Answer:
Possible viral infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
I see the photos you attached and the back of your throat seems red in colour but not any swellings or other things. The tongue is normal on colour and with tiny red elements in the aides of it.
I believe it can be related to a viral infection.
I don't think this is strep throat.
I believe you can take any throat spry to ease symptoms.
Also gargling with baking soda or salt may be adviced for disinfection. Flu medications such Tylenol can be taken.
I don't think you may need to visit a doctor.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
