Question : i had a root canal done on 12/10/2019 for a really bad infection. i never noticed any lymph nodes swollen on that side but now i have noticed a lymph node in front of my ear swollen and one on my neck swollen. both pea size, same side as root canal. i am on an antibotic, i will finish it in two days. the tooth feels better than it did before but it feel uncomfortable when i press on it. could my swollen nodes be because of the infection that was in my tooth or could it be something else?

I have gone through your query and here is my advice.

Kindly follow up with few more details,

Presently do you have cold/runny nose, sore throat, cough, difficulty in swallowing, earache, fever, any other dental caries?

In that case I would suggest you to consult with ENT specialist for detailed clinical examination to rule out any other possibilities for ear infection/throat infection. Continue saline or betadine gargles and take steam inhalation.

Further treatment mainly depends upon the underlying condition. I don't think that these swollen lymph nodes may be due to previous tooth infection.

Till then I would suggest you to continue antibiotics as advised. For pain you can take tablet ibuprofen/ Advil over the counter.
