Question : i had irregular bleeding this month. i saw a new gyne who i dont kniw well. She said that my ultrasound showed thickness of 11 which is what she expected since I%E2%80%99m bleeding. But the report comments say endo thickened at 11 mm. The confusing part is she also said between 8-11 is considered normal but is normal based on where I am in my cycle when I was already bleeding at not a normal time. Can they distinguish between your lining thickness (what it is normally) and what it is when bleeding? I know it thickens when you are moving through your cycle. But since I was bleeding, how do I know? The exact words in her comments was endo thickening at 11 mm. Would she have written something else if it was a problem or is that alone a problem? My FSH is 6.6

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I have gone through your reports.
I think the scanning was done on 20th day from periods.
Endometrial biopsy may be done.I suggested D nC if bleeding is severe to control.Or else simple office procedure may be enough.
If the bleeding has stopped ,you can wait till next periods for a scan .

Since I’m 50, can’t the bleeding be due to hormonal shifts? Can this measurement of the lining be normal under these circumstances? Is there any scenario where this lining can be normal and the bleeding be a part of perimenopause?
