i moved to a new state and My doctor notice a diagnoisis of adhd. i told her i didnt like the way it made me feel and told her about my history of depression. but not at the time. she said i need a stronger dose. she gave me vyvanse 30 mg and said it should help me with the way i feel. since i started the medication it has made me angry, i got mad at little things, ive never had got jealous before, but now i do. my fiance is miserable. can this medication alter your personalty. i have never yelled or cursed at my fiance before i got on this medication. she states she doesnt know what will set me off.
i moved states and got a new md she saw my recent history of adhd and depression she informed me that the vyvanse was not strong enough to try 30 mg as 20 mg may not have been enough. i have been on it for 4 months now. i have had the worse temper the last 3 months. i yell and curse af my fiance as i never did this before and i have developed jealousy controlling behavoir issues as i was not this way before. can vyvanse cause behavoural change like jealousy, controling, and verbal angression.

could be a medication side effect
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Some patients do get personality changes when they take psychiatric medications. You need to see your doctor and explain this to her. You will need to be tapered down off the drug and another one can be tried if you are still depressed.
It is very important that you talk to your doctor as soon as possible so that your medication can be changed in a safe and effective manner. Seeing a counselor may also be helpful since this is affecting your relationship.

Dr. Robinson
